Hicks seventh in World Short Track Championship at Charlotte

Competing in the 604 Late Model division, Benji Hicks visited The Dirt Track at Charlotte (Concord, N.C.) on Thursday afternoon for the World Short Track Championship.

In the special Championship Feature, Benji started the 15-lap main event from the 13th-starting position and finished inside the Top-10 in eighth.

Slated to start eighth in his heat race at Friday after a tough qualifying lap, Hicks stormed through the field and went on a eighth-to-first charge to win his heat race.

With the finale scheduled for Saturday evening, Hicks landed a front row starting position but faded throughout the 30-lap feature to record a seventh-place outing.
